The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCCI) is organising seminars for Data Protection Officers (DPO) on the new General Privacy Policy (GDPR) in Nicosia, Limassol and Larnaca in July.

Following changes to the Protection of Personal Data and Privacy of EU citizens and the GDPR in May 2018, personal data protection obligations have been tightened and affect any organisation that collects, holds and manages the personal data of European citizens. With these changes arises the need to employ a DPO to manage the GDPR.  As such, this seminar is aimed at DPOs and will equip them with the knowledge and skills to successfully and correctly carry out their duties

The seminar will cover the basic principles of personal data protection; the core duties and obligations of the DPO; the knowledge and skills required to be a DPO; the advantages and disadvantages of in-house DPO versus external DPO; implementation of the regulation; basic reporting as required by the competent authorities, and other pertinent topics.

The seminars will take place as per below:

  • Hilton Park Hotel, Nicosia: July 9 & 11
  • Atlantica Miramare, Limassol: July 10 & 12
  • Lordos Beach Hotel, Larnaca: July 16 & 18
